Diapason
Diapason : noun
1. an organ stop sounding a main register of flue pipes, typically of eight-foot
pitch.
2. a grand swelling burst of harmony.
Performance artist, Alex Rigg lead the Diapason project. The starting point for
designing costumes were poems that Alex had written. Vibration and sound were a
recurring theme in the poem I chose. Within it, there were lines that drew me
towards images of beating hearts, shaking, reverberation and waves of sound. I
echoed these themes in my textiles and created a tasselled cloak that shimmered
and shook; creating my visual representation of sound:
